Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good Risk-Reward (R:R) ratio in trading?
Most professional traders aim for a Risk-Reward ratio of 1:2 or higher. This means that if you risk ₹10,000 on a trade (Stop-Loss), your profit target should yield at least ₹20,000. Maintaining a high R:R ensures that even a 40% win rate can keep your account profitable.
What is the relationship between Risk-Reward and Win Rate?
They are mathematically linked. The higher your average Risk-Reward ratio, the lower the win rate you need to remain profitable. For instance, at a 1:1 R:R, you need a 50% win rate. At 1:2, you only need a 33.3% win rate. At 1:3, it drops to 25%.
How does the Break-Even Win Rate formula work?
The formula is: Break-Even Win Rate = Risk / (Risk + Reward) * 100. It calculates the exact probability threshold where your total wins equal your total losses over a large sample size, excluding slippage and trading taxes.
How does the auto-detect direction toggle work?
By default, the calculator checks your Entry and Stop-Loss prices. If the Stop-Loss is lower than the Entry, it sets the trade to Long. If it is higher, it sets it to Short. You can override it by manually clicking the Long/Short buttons if you have specific trade requirements.
